The perfect summer T-shirt should offer us a comfortable feel, especially on hot days. The fabric should be gentle on the skin, not too heavy to prevent excessive sweating, but also not too light to protect us from the intense sun's rays. The choice of material is crucial! Popular options are cotton and linen. Cotton absorbs moisture well, feels pleasantly soft, and, thanks to its breathability, is particularly suitable for people with sensitive skin. Especially in summer, it is advisable to choose T-shirts made of pure cotton fibers and avoid fabric blends with synthetic materials such as polyester.
Linen T-shirts are also great for summer due to their airy texture, which provides a pleasantly cool feeling when worn. However, these fabrics are usually more coarsely woven and therefore more susceptible to UV rays. Linen is also more prone to staining, especially when exposed to heavy sweating on hot days.
Alternative natural fibers include viscose and Tencel. But here too, the more tightly the fabric is woven, the better it protects against the sun!
Generally, avoid polyester T-shirts – while this fabric provides good sun protection, it is not very breathable and can cause skin irritation, especially for people with sensitive skin.
Fair fashion simply feels better! Make sure your shirt was made without the exploitation of others. You can look for the Fair Wear or GOTS label, or shop from small labels with transparent manufacturing practices.

With our new T-shirt collection for adults, we at Oktopulli have made every effort to combine the most important features of a summer T-shirt. But how did we manage to incorporate all these important features into the T-shirts?
Who better to explain this to us than our talented seamstress Henni! In a short interview, she explained once again what we considered when developing our new summer collection.

Henni, what did you pay attention to when designing the new T-shirt collection?
Henni:
We've once again opted for the raglan cut for our new collection . The unique feature of this cut is that there are no constricting sleeve seams. This allows the fabric to sit loosely on the shoulders and adapt to every body type. The T-shirts also have a straight cut rather than a fitted silhouette. This ensures a nice, loose and comfortable fit without looking like a sack of potatoes. We've also once again opted for a gender-neutral cut, which allows everyone to feel comfortable in our T-shirts.
What is special about the fabric of summer T-shirts?
Henni:
For our new collection we use 100% cotton interlock , which is organic and fairly produced. The great thing about cotton is that it is not only more sustainable, but also has properties for everyday use. For example, it is cooling in summer and comfortable against the skin. The cotton interlock is slightly more robust than normal jersey thanks to its double stitches. This means that our jersey cotton fabric consists of two layers, which makes it stronger and denser. However, it has a very loose fit and is robust enough to retain its shape. Thanks to the double layer, the T-shirt is also much more durable. This way we have created a look that not only looks high-quality but is also extremely comfortable against the skin.
What makes the new collection so special?
Henni:
What makes our collection unique is that our customers can choose between two different necklines this time. It was important to us to consider the wishes and needs of our customers. In an Instagram survey, we discovered that some of you prefer a narrower neckline, while others prefer a wider one. Therefore, we offer two neckline variations in the collection to ensure everyone feels comfortable in our T-shirts.
What did you pay attention to when designing the new Oktopulli T-shirt collection?
Henni:
It's important to us to follow more than just seasonal trends. When designing our new T-shirts, we deliberately chose lighter colors that are perfect for summer. But of course, there are also timeless basics that can be worn regardless of the season. And what would Oktopulli be without our more eye-catching statement pieces? With this wide selection, we want to guarantee our customers that there's the right item for everyone.
What is your personal favorite piece from the collection?
Henni:
My particular highlight is the T-shirt with the two different patterns on the sleeves , as it reflects Oktopulli's distinctive brand personality.
