How I never imagined being a parent: With burnout in the day clinic

Julia Knörnschild is a mother of two, a successful entrepreneur, influencer, and author. In the summer of 2022, her children were still very young when she checked into a day clinic with exhaustion-induced depression. Nothing was working anymore. She was diagnosed with burnout, ADHD, and anxiety disorder. And the realization: Things couldn't go on like this.

In her second book, Julia Knörnschild explores mental illness in a touching and, despite all the tragedy, funny way. She offers insights into her therapy sessions, group sessions, and her everyday life as a mother who isn't "functioning." Rarely has mental illness and mental health been discussed so personally, and perhaps never in the context of motherhood. It's an absolute taboo that must finally be broken so that mothers everywhere finally receive the visibility they deserve.

FAQ

How do I properly care for cotton clothing?

We recommend washing the octopus sweater inside out at 30 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 800 rpm in a washing machine or by hand. It should not be tumble dried. After drying, the sweater can be ironed on a medium heat setting.

Where do your materials come from?

Our kids' sweaters: Our kids' sweaters are mostly made from secondhand, leftover, and surplus fabrics. We want to use what's already available in the world as much as possible. Of course, we pay attention to quality when purchasing the fabrics.

Newly purchased fabrics: The fabrics we purchase are manufactured exclusively in Europe, are made of 100% cotton (organic) and are subject to the highest ecological and social standards.

Where do you make your clothes?

Our clothing is manufactured exclusively locally in Berlin or in partner workshops in Germany. Through our work, we raise awareness for local sewing crafts and contribute to preserving the craft.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Sure! Our workshop is located in Berlin Kreuzberg. You can simply choose the "local pickup" option later during checkout, saving you the shipping costs.
